DSM 5 Still Open for Public Comment

The APA website for DSM-5 is open for public comment until July 15, 2011 on the proposed changes to DSM-5. These include changes that may separate OCD from other anxiety disorders and group it with other disorders like BDD and Trichotillomania. A new research journal entitled: Journal of Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders (JOCRD) is now accepting submissions for peer review!

This journal will publish papers dealing with all aspects of OCD and related (“OCD spectrum”) conditions. The submission website is: http://ees.elsevier.com/jocrd/default.asp.

Full information about the journal’s aims and scope, as well as a complete guide for authors, can also be found at this site. The first issue of JOCRD is planned for publication in January 2012.

Summer Intensive Program for Youth Anxiety

Weill Cornell Psychiatry is excited to present a new Summer Intensive Program for Youth Anxiety in a fun camp-like setting at the Payne Whitney Westchester Division campus over the course of a week beginning July 11, 2011. Children with a variety of anxiety disorders are appropriate for this program including social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety, and specific phobias.
