Camp Deecio, a 3-day overnight camp (August 5-7, 2011) for adolescents (ages 13-18) with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), is now accepting applications for this year’s camp! Located near Seattle, Washington, Camp Deecio combines the fun of an adventure camping experience with state-of-the-art treatment principles for OCD. Specifically, strategies based on exposure and response prevention (ERP), a type of cognitive-behavioral therapy that has been found to be effective in treating OCD, will be used throughout the weekend to help campers face OCD-related fears. We hope to provide an environment that is fun, supportive, and challenging to enhance and support ongoing therapy for the treatment of OCD. Out of state applicants are welcome! For more information and for a camp application, please visit the Camp Deecio website at www.teenocdcamp.com.
